Hi everybody.  Does the playback device or codec affect the sound quality when listening to music through headphones?  I feel when listening to music on sony phone is better than listening on iphone.  The soundstage on sony phones is wider, the bass is also deeper.. etc.  it seems that on ios the sound quality is limited, do you know if everyone feels the same as me?

Different electronic products have different decoding methods, so the sound quality of the same music heard on different electronic products will be different.

iOS uses AAC Bluetooth codec and Sony can use LDAC which is generally agreed to be better. Plus I've listened to the difference with my Sony phone vs Apple and I personally think it sounds better on the Sony.

One of the items that people over look with sound quality is the fit of the earbud. If you have an excellent fit the sound will be a lot better. If you have a poor fit the sound will not be as good.  A good fitting earbud will enhance the listening experience.  So no matter what codec you have it many not make a difference if your earbud is not fitting properly.
