Earfun Air Pro 3 mono mode with single earbud

I listen to a lot of rock music and sometimes I like to listen with a single earbud. Most rock songs have individual instruments playing only on the left or right speakers, so I would need to listen in mono mode to hear the song as intended.

I've read online that if one earbud is left in the charging case, the other one will switch the audio to mono mode for single earbud listening. Mine don't do that.

I have an iPhone 13 Pro. Is this only a feature that is available for certain phones or am I missing something?
