Unable to control volume on UBOOM L??

I have a UBOOM L that I use as my main media speaker (TV, movies, podcasts, etc etc) 

I just realized I can't control the volume of whatever im listening to via the vol rockers on my phone- I figured there'd at least be an option in the app but legit no different.

Unless I'm missing something- it's wild there's no standard volume control via the app (I'd even accept a little remote or something)

anyone figure out a solution to this?
